Trust & Transparency
How we handle your work, your data, and your money. Plain language, no legalese. If anything here is unclear, ask — we'd rather over-explain than leave you wondering.
Your art is yours — and it never feeds an AI
This is the whole point of Flypost, so we'll be blunt about it:
- We never train AI on your work.We don't scrape it, sell it, or feed it to any AI system. Ever.
- Your work is private by default. Uploaded files live in private, access-controlled storage — not public, not indexed, not searchable. The only time your art is visible to anyone else is when you choose to show it (like putting a piece in your public portfolio).
- The credo cuts both ways. AI never makes the art on Flypost, and AI never harvests the art on Flypost. We exist to protect human artists from the machine — not to quietly feed them to it.
- Any future AI feature is opt-in.If we ever build something where AI would touch your work, it will be strictly opt-in, and we'll tell you in plain language exactly what it does before you choose. No silent changes.
Your data — what we keep, where, and who can see it
- What we store: your account, your profile and portfolio, your orders, and — for artists getting paid — the tax info required to pay you legally.
- Where: a private, encrypted, access-controlled database (Neon Postgres) and private file storage (Cloudflare R2). Nothing public, nothing indexed.
- Encryption: data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Sensitive identifiers like tax/SIN numbers get an additional layer of application-level encryption — we keep only the last few digits in readable form.
- Who can see what:only you, the other party on your order, and the operator (for support and disputes) can see an order's files. Nothing is public unless you make it public.
The money — fees, who handles payment, and escrow
- Fees, plainly: during early access, buyers pay no platform fee. Artists keep 88% of what they charge — Flypost takes a small commission (12% for founding artists) to keep the lights on. No hidden cuts.
- Who handles payment: Stripe — a major, PCI-compliant payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide. Your card details go straight to Stripe; Flypost never sees or stores your card number.
- Escrow: when you commission, your payment is held securely and only released to the artist after you approve the work.If something goes wrong before that, you're refunded.
- Payouts: artists are paid to their bank through Stripe once you approve the work.
If something goes wrong
Real humans, real recourse. If a transaction runs into trouble, email support@flypost.art and a person will help you sort it out. For payment-specific issues, Stripe is the processor of record and we'll help you work with them.
Transparency is the product here, not a footnote. A question we didn't answer? Email support@flypost.art — and we'll add it to this page.
